Coats - Cold Weather Clothing

posted Dec 2, 2016, 10:27 AM by jdirksen@nebcityps.org

As we head in to colder weather we wanted to remind you of our expectations for winter clothing at Hayward. Students go outside for recess unless the temperature is 15 degrees or below. Wind chill is taken into account when looking at the temperature.

50 degrees or above - short sleeve shirt and shorts are acceptable
40-49 degrees - sweatshirt/ hooded sweatshirts or jacket
39 degrees or below - winter coat preferred
    - a jacket with layers underneath is acceptable
    - sweatshirts and layered sweatshirts are not acceptable
    - shorts are not acceptable

These expectations are put in place to protect our students from the cold. If you have any questions please let us know.

Food Pantry Drive

posted Dec 2, 2016, 10:15 AM by jdirksen@nebcityps.org

We are asking our students to help us decorate our school Christmas tree again this year. They can do so by donating paper items and non-perishable food items for the Nebraska City Food Pantry.

From December 5 through December 16 each time a student donates an item for the Food Pantry they will receive a candy cane and get to put an ornament on the tree.
